Re-Entry and Networking Event took place in Ankara!

Jean Monnet Scholars who returned to Turkey after completing their studies in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 academic years came together at the Re-entry and Networking Event held in Ankara on 15 June 2021.

The opening speech of the event was given by Mr. A. Hakan Atik, Head of Department of Project Implementation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs. Emphaising the importance and prestige of being a Jean Monnet Scholar, Mr. Atik advised our scholars to make the best use of this prestigious advantage.

In the Building and Enhancing Networks session, Networker Mr. Erdal Uzunoğlu shared his suggestions on how to evaluate opportunities for networking in all areas of life with our scholars.

Within the scope of the Scholarship Programme, Jean Monnet Mentorship was introduced to the scholars for the first time. Prof. Dr. Nezih Orhon talked about the importance of mentor and mentee relationships in life. He also underlined that with the mentorship programme, the scholars can meet on a common value and what they can achieve with it. He also advised the scholars to continue their Jean Monnet journey while sharing their experiences  with new scholars.

Representatives of the Jean Monnet Scholars’ Association informed the scholars about the activities of the Association and shared the achievements of acting together as Jean Monnet alumni under the same roof.

At the Career Planning session held in the afternoon, Ms Rüzgar Mira Okan, Personal Brand and Career Specialist, talked to our scholars about the importance of creating a personal brand and the points to be considered in this area. Ms Okan also answered the questions of the scholars about their past experiences and gave advice on career planning tools.

The Re-Entry and Networking Event ended after a cocktail accompanied by a musical concert.
