Following the written examination held on 25 March 2023 within the scope of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, the evaluation process was completed and the candidates who were entitled to receive scholarships were notified on 13 June 2023. 160 scholars were selected to benefit from the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme within the 2023-2024 academic year.
The Pre-departure Meetings were held in Ankara on 20 June 2023 and in Istanbul on 22 June 2023 in order to provide detailed information to the scholars about the Programme’s approval, placement and contract processes.
Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, Head of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, and Saygın Tozlu, Senior Contract Manager of the Central Finance and Contracts Unit, attended the Ankara event and made their opening speeches. During the full day programme, experts from the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit made presentations about the programme approval, contract and monitoring processes and answered questions from the scholars.
The meeting, which was held in İstanbul, started with the opening speech by A. Hakan Atik, Head of the Project Implementation Department of the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme continued with presentations containing detailed information.
During the meetings, pleasant activities accompanied by a moderator were also organised for the scholars to get to know each other more closely.
