The Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme brought together its 2026–2027 Academic Year scholars at the Pre-Departure Seminar, held in Ankara on 8 June 2026.
Organised to support scholars in their preparations for their academic journey in Europe, the seminar provided comprehensive information on placement procedures, contractual requirements, financial and administrative obligations, and reporting processes. Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed guidance from the Programme team.
The opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs; H.E. Ambassador-Designate Aivo Orav, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye; and Sevda Algün, Senior Contract Manager at the Central Finance and Contracts Unit (CFCU). The speakers underlined the Programme’s contribution to academic cooperation between Türkiye and the European Union and highlighted the important role of the scholarship recipients.
The Pre-Departure Seminar marked an important milestone in preparing the scholars for their studies in Europe.
We wish all 2026–2027 Jean Monnet scholars every success in their academic journey.
