Following the written exam held on 8 February 2025 as part of the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme, the evaluation process has been finalised, and the results were announced on 16 May 2025. A total of 190 scholars have been awarded the Jean Monnet Scholarship for the 2025–2026 academic year.
To provide scholars with detailed information about programme approval, placement and contracting processes, pre-departure seminars were held in Istanbul on 23 May 2025 and in Ankara on 26 May 2025.
The seminar in Ankara was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski Head of Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, and Director of the Central Finance and Contracts Unit Barbaros Murat Köse, who each shared their reflections on the upcoming scholarship period.
Ambassador Bozay congratulated the scholars, stating: “Each of our scholars who will specialise in EU-related areas is building a strong bridge for our shared future. I wish you all a year full of success.” Ambassador Ossowski from the Delegation added: “We are delighted to welcome such a bright group of scholars who will contribute to knowledge exchange between Türkiye and the EU. Congratulations to you all.”
Throughout the full-day programme, experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Directorate for EU Affairs and the Central Finance and Contracts Unit provided comprehensive briefings on programme procedures and responded to questions from participants. Interactive sessions were also organised to encourage scholars to connect and get to know one another better.
With a budget of approximately 7 million euros, the Jean Monnet Scholarship Programme continues to support academic cooperation between Türkiye and EU member states in the 2025–2026 academic year.
We extend our sincere congratulations to all new scholars and wish them every success in this exciting journey of specialisation in EU studies.
